Your Personal Power is in Your Personal Plan

This quick 1 minute video was taken from a training I did a couple of months ago in Spartanburg, SC.  Hopefully you’ll be motivated as much as the people in that audience to take a step towards putting your personal plan together.  Your power really is in your plan.  What I’ve seen is that most live off of hope.  They sit and wish for things in their life to change but it never happens.  Hope is not a strategy and wishing is not a good game plan.  Don’t wait for circumstances or other people to change because that can be a long wait!  Take control of you by putting a plan together to change you!

Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan

One of the common complaints I receive is, “Dennis, it’s hard!”.  Of course it’s hard!  Planning is not easy.  That’s why so few people actually invest their energy in planning.  A hidden secret I’ve discovered is that all great achievers actually think on paper.  They invest some mental energy in a plan before they invest physical energy in actually doing the work.  I’ve realized my days actually go smoother when I take the time in the morning to simply put a plan together.

What is Your Top 5?

One simply idea is to create a Top 5 everyday.  You might even call this your MIT list (Most Important Things).  The secret to this technique is to keep the list to 5 things or under.  I’m not saying that you only get 5 things accomplished that day, but it when the list gets any bigger you can tend to lose focus.  This will help you conquer one of the greatest enemies of productivity:  Lack of Focus.  I know that if your focus is broken you’re not as powerful as you could be.  If this is new to you, simply begin today to write out a Top 5.  Do this every morning for 30 days and see where this habit will take you.
