Everyone faces frustrations or encounters obstacles when working towards goals. Our natural response to frustration is to complain or to use it as an excuse for not reaching a goal. But what if that pain and frustration could actually be the key to accomplishing our goals? What if frustration is a gift?
Frustration may actually be our greatest resource for creativity. Irritation gives you the gift of energy. Instead of using the energy to complain, you can use it to create.
Take a look at the following process that helps you convert your frustration into creative energy that can help you tackle obstacles and reach your goals.
Step 1: Define the frustration.
What’s annoying you? What’s aggravating you? What’s irritating you?
Step 2: Determine the importance.
Why is it irritating you? Really get clear on why it bothers you. The greater the aggravation, the greater the energy. You’ll utilize that energy in just a minute.
Step 3: Rate the pain.
(Required)
A key step after defining your frustration and goals is to rate the pain of the situation. Take a moment to fully feel your frustration. How intense is it? Rate it on the scale. provided.

Step 4: Decide what you want.
What do you really want? This could be for yourself, the circumstance, or another person. All progress starts when you tell the truth so be clear on what you want.
Step 5: Determine your first step.
What’s one thing you can do right now to either lower the intensity of your pain (remember Step 3) or completely eliminate the frustration. There is always something you can do. You don’t have to feel like a victim and bottle up your frustration.
