Giving feedback can be a challenge. Because of how many people were raised, the truth was taboo. They lived with sacred cows and white elephants. Maybe this describes your home life. The good news is giving and receiving feedback is a learnable skill.
When I first work with companies in developing a high-trust high-performance culture, I need a baseline. For that, I’ll use an organizational climate survey, an online questionnaire that gives me feedback about the current culture. You first have to know where you are, before you create a path to where you want to go.
At first, most people do not have the relational skills in giving and receiving feedback, so we use an anomoious online tool to give us a starting point. Utilizing this tool is a good start, but I think the goal should be to graduate your company into a culture where 2 way honest dialogue is encouraged. When you get to this point, things really get done.
